We opened our 2020 strong on January 23 with a new event for us!
Alongside Columbia’s Asian Pacific American Law Student’s Association (APALSA), we hosted “Navigating a Wine List,” an event for both of our organizations that included a guided tasting and lecture from the team at Wine Access.

On November 14, DeVinimus had its final tasting of the semester. To cap off the year, we had a smaller tasting, and we toasted with some Italian wines from the Frescobaldi group: Tenuta Luce and Attems.
Thank you all for a fantastic semester, with record-breaking membership and phenomenal wines!

On Friday, November 8, DeVinimus members and their guests took a tour of Tempranillo with Bodgegas Riojanas. We had a wonderful time getting to know Spanish wines through their Monte Real brand.
As a reminder, many of these wines are available at PJ Wine, online and in store here in NYC!
Last night, Columbia Law students and their guests took a break from midterms and last-minute Halloween costume planning for a treat:
Justine Memmi of Château Lagrange guided us through a tasting of six outstanding wines and taught us about the history of the estate and the philosophy of how their wine is made.

Last week, DeVinimus hosted a second Bordeaux tasting! This time, we were led through some of the wines of the Medoc with wine expert Dewey Markham Jr., author of Wine Basics and 1855: A History of the Bordeaux Classification.
We had a blast at our first Bordeaux tasting of the year with Château Latour-Martillac – a full house turned up to learn about the history of the winemaker and taste seven of their fantastic wines.

Last week, we hosted our first tasting of the semester: Wines 101. Over the course of the evening, our advisors Robert Cunningham and Robin Kelley O’Connor led us through the basics of wine tasting as we sampled twelve wines.

On September 3, DeVinimus welcomed the newest 1Ls and LLMs to Columbia Law School with a wine and cheese mixer. We had a great time getting to know our newest classmates and members!
